RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 3x12 shift schedule
• Weekend coverage required
• Self-scheduling
• 36 orientation hours
• Charge pay offered
• First time travelers accepted
• 1.5 years of experience required
• Locals not accepted
• Patient ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights
• Care for adult medical patients including those needing dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, stroke, heart failure, delirium/dementia, end of life care, and mental health/substance withdrawal
• Float required to other Med Surg units and Observation unit (no floating to other facilities)
• Work with special equipment including feeding tubes, chest tubes, trachs, and blood administration
• Required skills: Blood product administration, central line blood draw, feeding tube care and management, Heparin, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting and maintaining IVs
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
