Operating Room RN Job in Jennings, LA

Ochsner American Legion Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a 91-day travel assignment in Jennings, LA. You will work day shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on a 5x8 schedule, earning $2,525 weekly. This role begins September 21, 2026.

Role Responsibilities

• Serve as OR circulator across 4 operating rooms with an average daily census of 10 patients
• Support surgical procedures including general surgery, C-sections, laparoscopic assisted procedures, and orthopedic cases
• Cover PACU and endoscopy as needed
• Provide conscious sedation monitoring and wound management
• Care for patients across all age groups—infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Float to other departments during low census periods

Schedule and On-Call

• Day shift commitment (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM)
• On-call requirement of 1 day per week and every 4th to 5th weekend (subject to change based on staffing needs)
• Must arrive within 30 minutes of call-out when on call
• First week includes 2 days of buddy call

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
• Previous travel healthcare experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Epic charting system experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• AHA certifications required
• Community hospital experience preferred
