Join URMC Strong Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse in our Electrophysiology Lab. This 117-week travel assignment offers competitive weekly pay of $3,451 and begins September 14, 2026.
Role Overview
You will work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, primarily during day hours with some evening and late-night shifts as needed. You'll support a range of diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures, including electrocardiograms, RF ablations, cryo ablations, device implants (traditional pacemakers and ICDs), and structural heart procedures. Your responsibilities include patient preparation, equipment setup and verification, monitoring of readings and recordings during procedures, and assisting physicians with device implementation and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for procedures and verify all equipment and instrumentation is functioning properly
- Monitor read-outs and recordings during studies and ablations; assist with lab analysis and data interpretation
- Work as circulator, prepping patients and equipment at the sterile field for studies and ablations
- Maintain fluids for ablation catheters and provide ablator assistance
- Assist with pacing implementation and permanent device installation related to cardiac health
- Provide backup pacing support during implants and remain patient-focused while assisting Anesthesia
- Communicate findings and issues to physicians and specialists; coordinate with in-room staff to ensure equipment and supplies are available
- Facilitate timely room turnover and on-time procedure starts
- Document all procedures using Epic (required)
- Coordinate with Charge Nurse and third-party vendors to ensure team availability for scheduled procedures
Requirements
- New York state RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Proficiency in moderate sedation (required)
- Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience preferred
- GE system experience (MacLab & CardioLab) preferred
Holiday and on-call shifts required per unit needs. This role demands strong communication skills, patient focus, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced interventional setting.
