PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Float pool position rotating across various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Night shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Longer assignments available through 01/02/2027
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must have both PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with all pediatric populations
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience will be considered
• Must have Epic experience
• Must adhere to float policy rotating between PICU, NICU, Peds ER, Acute Pediatrics, and occasionally L&D and Mother/Baby
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 (ICU) or 1:3 (ICN), Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5, Peds ED variable
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be submitted as pending; cost is $185)
• Virginia nursing license required; pending licenses accepted
• Travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Maximum 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; no time off approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Key skills include ventilator management, ECMO, arterial line management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, IV vasopressors, CRRT, ICP monitoring, pediatric dosage calculations, and tracheostomy care among others
