PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Float pool position rotating between various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Night shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must have both PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with pediatric patients of all ages including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Must float within scope of practice as needed across assigned units
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby during staffing needs
• Epic EMR experience required
• Travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, and Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate (may submit with certification pending)
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Nursys verification required with submission
• References required
• Maximum of 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract; no RTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Key clinical skills required include: ventilator management, arterial line management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, IV vasopressors, ECMO, CRRT, high flow nasal cannula, pediatric dosage calculations, care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, and management of chest tubes among others
