PICU RN Job in Richmond, VA

VCU Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). You will provide direct patient care in a 20-bed unit with a typical daily census of 16, managing a 2:1 patient ratio.

Role Details

• Shift: 3x12 rotating schedule with alternating weeks; no rotating shifts within the same week
• Weekend coverage required: 12–13 weekend shifts per contract on an every-other-weekend basis
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during the contract
• 91-day assignment starting September 28, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,597

Requirements

• Current RN license: Virginia or compact state license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Epic charting experience (mandatory, no exceptions)
• BSN preferred

Clinical Skills & Experience

• Required competencies: CVVH, chemotherapy administration, ECMO, ICP monitoring, telemetry, mechanical ventilation
• Experience caring for neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatric, and adult patients
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope as needed

Unit Information

You will work within a high-acuity pediatric critical care environment at an academic medical center. The team supports complex patient populations requiring intensive monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. Natural nail policy applies.
