PICU Registered Nurse Job in Charlottesville, VA

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Float pool position rotating between various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Night shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must be comfortable with NICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Pediatric ED
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Travel experience required
• Must have Epic charting system experience
• Previous charge experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, and Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate (can submit with certification pending)
• Required skills include: arterial line management, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, IV vasopressors, ECMO, CRRT, high flow nasal cannula, pediatric dosage calculations, management of chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2 (ICU) or 1:3 (ICN), Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5, Peds ED variable
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units during staffing needs
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted)
• Nursys verification required with submission
• References required
• Maximum 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract; no RTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
