PICU Registered Nurse Job in Charlottesville, VA

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Night shift position
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Float pool position rotating to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Must float within scope of practice as needed
• Minimum of 2 years PICU experience required
• Must have PACU, PICU, and NICU experience and be comfortable with pediatric patients
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience will be considered
• Must have Epic experience
• Travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Must adhere to float pool policy
• Virginia nursing license required; pending licenses accepted
• Nursys verification required with submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with certification pending)
• Maximum of 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Key skills include: arterial line management, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, ECMO, CRRT, central line care, IV vasopressors, pediatric dosage calculations, care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care among others
