PICU Registered Nurse Job in Charlottesville, VA

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 36 or 48 hours per week
• Float pool position rotating between various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby during staffing needs
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• 52-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must have PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with pediatric patients
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience considered
• Epic charting system experience required
• Travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted)
• Nursys verification required with submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can submit with certification pending)
• Must adhere to float pool policy
• Pre-approved time off maximum of 40 hours per contract; no time off approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Skills required include but are not limited to: arterial line management, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, ECMO, IV vasopressors, central line care, PICC line management, pediatric dosage calculations, care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and tracheostomy care
