ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Intensive Care Unit. You will work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule: day shift runs 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and night shift runs 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. Every other weekend is required, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday. You will be self-scheduled into the core staff schedule, though block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.

Unit Details: The 33-bed ICU maintains an average daily census of 16 patients. You will manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients. The unit serves a Trauma Level 2 facility and handles acute care cases including trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose and substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent placement, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using the GE monitoring system with tele tech oversight
• Manage patients on respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Floating may occur to PCU or occasionally Med/Surg with typical unit ratios of 1:4 or 1:5

Orientation and Requirements: You will complete 1 shift of unit-specific orientation and pass a fail open-book exam requiring a minimum score of 90%. Required certifications are ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. A valid driver's license is required at the time of submittal. If placed on call and called back in, you must be able to arrive within 30 minutes. Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments. Charting is conducted in EPIC.

Assignment Details: The assignment runs for 91 days beginning October 26, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,359. Minimum of 2 holidays are required within the contract timeframe.
