PCU Registered Nurse Job in Augusta, GA

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a progressive care unit (PCU) float pool position. You will work 4x12-hour day shifts over a 77-week assignment beginning September 28, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,163.

Role Overview

As a float pool RN, you will provide care across Medical-Surgical (MS), MS/Telemetry, and PCU units within the hospital. Your patient population includes adults and geriatrics with ratios of 1:4–5 in PCU and 1:5–6 in MS and MS/Telemetry settings. You will be expected to flex to all designated units based on census needs.

Schedule & Commitment

• 36 or 48-hour weekly guarantee
• Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends per 13-week contract)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Holiday coverage required for major holidays falling within your assignment
• No on-call requirements

Required Credentials & Experience

• Current RN license (Georgia or Compact)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; first-time travelers welcome
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting system experience; Pyxis and SBAR also used
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Required Clinical Skills

• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Blood product and heparin protocol administration
• IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Wound care and wound vac management
• PCA and phlebotomy
• Rapid response and code team protocols

Wear navy blue scrubs. This position requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to prioritize patient care across multiple unit types.
