About this role
You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy, a Level I Trauma Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 17, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,384.64.
Schedule and Shift Details
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Multiple shift time options available: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, 11:00 AM–11:00 PM, 3:00 PM–3:00 AM, or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Leadership will build your schedule based on department needs
- Weekend and holiday coverage varies by departmental requirements
Clinical Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center environment
- Float to the OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once weekly
- Manage patient ratios of 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, and 1:1 in ICU/Trauma
- Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
- Administer common drips used in Level I trauma emergency departments
- Care for patients with trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and stroke diagnoses
- Use EPIC charting system
Required Qualifications and Certifications
- Current RN license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- TNCC certification required; NRP preferred
- Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
- Valid driver's license for 50-mile radius verification
Orientation and Expectations
- One week onboarding: 2 shifts at Bergan Mercy, 1 shift at UC
- Must pass orientation exam on Friday with 90% passing score
- Artificial nails are prohibited; refusal to remove will result in contract termination
- Cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility within 50 miles
