Job Details:

• Work afternoon/evening shifts from 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM
• Holidays, weekends, on-call, and callback coverage required as needed
• 1 year assignment only
• Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia including preparation of anesthesia equipment prior to patient arrival
• Place anesthesia monitors and ensure cleanliness and availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies
• Continuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to ensure their needs are met
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters
• Operate cell-saver machine and participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases
• Provide primary support in ensuring anesthesia equipment is in good working order and preventive maintenance is completed
• Set up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshooting
• Assist in the development and implementation of in-service training programs and staff training
• Perform anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting including infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, transport monitors, anesthesia machines, and fiberoptic bronchoscopes
• Set up rooms between cases and provide full service setup at end of day
• Support out-of-OR procedures ensuring proper equipment is in place
• Provide backup to shift supervisor during absences as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech required
• BLS (American Heart Association only) required
• Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferred
