Anesthesia Technician Job in Rochester, NY

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Allied Health Professional Anesthesia Technician for a 89-day travel assignment at URMC Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. This is a day shift position working Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with on-call and callback coverage as needed.

About the Role

You will support anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies before patient arrival. Your responsibilities include placing anesthesia monitors, setting up medications, and ensuring all specialized equipment is clean and ready for use. You will assist clinicians with difficult intubations and central line placements, operate cell-saver machines, and track lab reports across cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases.

Equipment expertise is central to this role. You will set up and troubleshoot sophisticated anesthesia machines, test infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors. You will calibrate anesthesia machines, attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment is in working order. Between cases, you will set up rooms and carts throughout the day and provide full service setup at end of shift.

You will also support out-of-OR ectopic procedures, ensuring proper equipment is in place for anesthesia care in non-operating room settings. When the shift supervisor is absent due to vacation or illness, you will provide backup support.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferred

Start date: November 16, 2026. Weekly pay: $1,233. This is a 5x8 day shift schedule.
