ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 shift schedule
• Weekend requirement: every other Saturday and Sunday, with holidays as needed
• Patient ratios of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required occasionally
• No on-call required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Travel experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Charting experience required using Epic
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (within 180 days of start), TNCC or TCAR (within 180 days of start)
• California RN licensure required
• Provide holistic and individualized care to adult patients in an ICU setting
• Accountable for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors
• Foster and maintain collaborative relationships between patients, family/support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, emergency medications, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, post craniotomy care, post neurosurgery management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, spinal cord injury care, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning (ETT, NT), titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury care, and ventilator management
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
