Job Details:

• Scrub in on surgical procedures under professional nurse supervision for advanced and complex surgeries
• Anticipate surgeon preferences for materials and instruments, responding in advance to their needs
• Set up sterile tables with instruments, equipment, supplies, and medications/solutions for procedures
• Take apart and reassemble instruments and equipment for cleaning and prepare for terminal sterilization
• Monitor supplies and instruments to ensure sterility of materials for quality patient care
• Inventory and order assigned service supplies as needed
• Provide backup call coverage for emergency cases requiring two surgical technicians
• Develop and implement educational programs and learning aids for the department
• Participate in assigned committees and provide input on policy and procedure changes
• Must obtain flu vaccination
• Required certifications: Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) and current BLS certification
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of technologist training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
• 1 year experience preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, instrumentation, suturing materials, and wound healing required
• Skills in sterile technique, processing, and patient positioning essential
• Must live at least 50+ miles away from facility address
