PACU Registered Nurse Job in New Orleans, LA

Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide direct patient care across all major surgical services, supporting pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery for both pediatric and adult populations.

About the Role:

• Support patients recovering from procedures across 34 operating rooms on two floors
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:2
• Care for patients following regional anesthesia and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) procedures
• Float to pediatric PACU as needed
• Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein
• Document care and manage patient flow using Epic EHR

Facility Overview:

The first floor houses 6 ORs, 2 cystoscopy suites, and a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, along with prep and recovery areas for CT and MRI cases. The second floor contains 28 ORs supporting Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab cases.

Position Details:

• Shift: Three 12-hour nights per week
• Contract length: 91 days
• Start date: July 13, 2026
• Scheduled weekends: 2–3 per contract
• Weekly pay: $2,044.80

Requirements:

• Current RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
• Critical Care Post Op experience preferred
• ACLS, BCLS, and PALS (AHA certifications) required
• Epic EHR experience required
