ED RN Job in Seattle, WA

Virginia Mason Medical Center is seeking an RN for the Emergency Department in Seattle, WA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026, offering three 12-hour night shifts per week at $2,408 weekly pay.

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Some holidays expected
• No on-call, standby, or floating requirements

Role Responsibilities

• Manage a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Administer common drips including insulin, cardiac drips, sedation, and critical drips
• Draw labs; phlebotomy available upon request
• Monitor telemetry alongside monitor technicians using Phillips monitors
• Triage assignments available for those with triage experience
• May be utilized as charge nurse, particularly on night shifts

Clinical Overview

The ED treats common diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health cases. Rare pediatric cases are treated and transferred. Behavioral health experience is required for this role.

Requirements and Credentials

• Current RN license
• Minimum one year of ED experience; preference given to travelers who have completed 1–2 prior assignments
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• BSN not required

Facility Details

Orientation consists of one 12-hour shift with an experienced ED RN. Royal blue scrubs required. Charting system is Cerner.
