Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Paducah, KY

You will work as a Certified Surgical Technologist at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Paducah, Kentucky. This is an 18-week contract position offering an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with on-call duties 1 to 2 nights per week and every 4th weekend. Weekly pay is $1,357.

Your responsibilities include:

• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures across general, GYN, and DaVinci specialties
• Prepare surgical cases by scrubbing in, ensuring instruments and supplies are sterile and available
• Maintain sterile field during case setup and throughout each procedure
• Alert the circulating nurse of any identified risks or variances from standard operating procedures
• Pass instruments and assist the physician as needed during surgery
• Assist with cutting suture material and applying electrocautery to clamps on bleeders under direct surgeon supervision
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts
• Assist with draping and patient positioning in collaboration with the circulating RN
• Perform post-case cleaning, including gross decontamination of instruments and instrument breakdown for Central Sterile Processing
• Follow all standards for instrument transport and return to Central Sterile
• Notify appropriate leadership of any damaged instruments at case end
• Ensure the surgical suite is disinfected and fully stocked for the next procedure

You must be willing to work in other specialties as needed. You will complete all mandatory education and maintain compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements. You must follow all safe practices in the operating room and complete age-specific annual competency assessments. Experience in general, GYN, and DaVinci procedures is required.
