Surgical Technologist Job in Louisville, KY

You will work as a Certified Surgical Technologist at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Louisville, KY. This is a travel position with an 89-day duration, starting October 5, 2026. You'll work a first shift schedule of 4 days per week at 10 hours per shift, earning $2,664 weekly.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in the operating room environment
• Set up for procedures efficiently and be scrubbed and in room before the patient enters
• Maintain and protect the sterile field during all procedures, demonstrating strong knowledge of sterile technique
• Label all solutions and medications with name and strength before transfer to the sterile field
• Perform instrument and sponge counts according to policy with no deviations except in emergency situations
• Check packaging and containers for integrity to promote aseptic technique
• Follow policy for safe handling of specimens, implants, and explants
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical technologist role including procedures, instrumentation, equipment, sutures, and supplies appropriate for each procedure
• Actively participate in time-out procedures and follow all safety protocols
• Practice safe working habits by following policies on safe use of PPE, blade holders, neutral zone, and sharps containers
• Communicate effectively with team members and follow the chain of command
• Assist with cleaning and stocking of rooms and help expedite room turnover
• Return each room to ready state at the end of each case
• Utilize available time to assist other team members and report to the control desk when unassigned
• Precept and help peers and students when needed

Qualifications and Attributes:

• Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• Strong clinical knowledge and skills regarding operating room procedures
• Highly motivated and self-directed with strong organizational skills
• Flexible availability and positive attitude with good communication skills
