Operating Room RN Job in Jennings, LA

Ochsner American Legion Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in Jennings, Louisiana. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 26, 2026, with day shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on a 5x8 schedule. You will earn $2,555 weekly.

Role and Responsibilities

• Serve as OR circulator across 4 operating rooms with an average daily census of 10 patients
• Manage cases including general surgery, C-sections, endoscopy, and PACU support
• Cover on-call duties one day per week and every 4th to 5th weekend, with a 30-minute response requirement
• Complete two days of buddy call during your first week
• Float to other departments during low-census periods

Patient Population and Skills Required

You will work with patients across all age groups—infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Required competencies include C-sections, laparoscopic procedures, endoscopy, orthopedic procedures, general OR, pediatric OR, wound management, conscious sedation monitoring, and malignant hyperthermia protocol.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of operating room experience required
• Proven travel healthcare experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA) certifications
• Compact or Louisiana nursing license required
• First-time travelers will not be accepted
