Opportunity:

Laboratory - Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Details:

• Shift times may vary with start times of 6:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 12:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required
• Perform a wide range of laboratory testing including blood banking, hematology, urinalysis, microbiology, and chemistry procedures
• Conduct specimen accessioning, preparation, receipt, and transport
• Operate and maintain automated analyzers including Beckman, Siemens Dimensions, Sysmex XM, and Iris Cell equipment
• Perform blood bank procedures including ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen, crossmatching, transfusion reaction workups, and Rhogam screening
• Conduct CBC with manual differential, platelet counts, reticulocyte counts, and coagulation testing including fibrinogen and factor assays
• Perform urinalysis including manual macroscopic and microscopic analysis
• Conduct microbiology procedures including gram stains, plate setup, and culture work
• Adhere to quality assurance, quality control review, and interpretation protocols
• Follow transmission-based precautions and proper hazardous materials handling
• Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related science required
• California CLS license and ASCP certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Experience with computerized laboratory information systems highly desirable
• Experience providing laboratory testing for specialized patient populations such as pediatric, neonatal, oncology, perinatal, and cardiac is highly desirable
