Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Average of 63 patients treated in the ER per day
• Trauma Level 3 facility with STEMI receiving and Stroke Center designation
• Mixed ER environment with holds intermixed within the ER
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor technicians are available
• Will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
• Technicians available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Standard ER medications and drips used
• Charting system: EPIC
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• BSN not required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• 2-3 days of unit/department specific orientation
• May float within Zone 5 if extreme need arises
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
