ED RN Job in Knoxville, TN

You'll work as a registered nurse in the Level I Emergency Department at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a 3x12 nights schedule and weekly pay of $2,016.

Role Overview

Your primary responsibility will be caring for admitted patients waiting in the ED for bed availability. You may work in a designated holding area or in the hallway, depending on facility flow. Patient ratios in ER holding are 6:1. When no patients are being boarded, you may be utilized in an acute care area to meet facility needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to boarding patients in the ED
• Monitor vital signs and patient status during wait times
• Float within your scope to other acute care areas as needed
• Participate in every other weekend and some holiday coverage
• Document all care using the Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Current RN license (Tennessee or compact license)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care and medical/surgical telemetry experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Demonstrated proficiency with Cerner charting system
• First-time travelers considered based on previous experience

Schedule Details

You'll work a block schedule with night shifts (3x12). Block schedule accommodation is available, and flexibility to meet facility needs is expected.
