CVOR RN Job in Houston, TX

CHI St Lukes Health - Baylor St Lukes Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking an RN (Registered Nurse) for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).

Position Overview

You will work day shifts from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, in a 12-suite CVOR handling approximately 20 cases per day. This is a high-acuity environment requiring strong circulating skills in a fast-paced, complex surgical setting. You will support approximately 25 surgeons, applying general CVOR knowledge across varying surgical teams.

Responsibilities

• Circulate cases across a diverse range of cardiovascular and vascular procedures
• Common cases include CABG, MVR, AVR, kidney transplant, robotics (thoracic and cardiac), peripheral vascular, thoracic, aortic repair, vascular access, hybrid procedures (TEVAR/EVAR, TAVR), Impella, IABP, and ECMO
• Perform charting in Epic EMR
• Work collaboratively with available OR techs on the unit

Call Requirements

Mandatory call includes a minimum of 1 weekday and 1 full weekend per month, with potential for more based on staffing needs. Call response time is 30 minutes. Weekend, weeknight, and holiday call requirements apply. No floating to other units.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of CVOR circulating experience
• Scrubbing is not required, but scrub experience is preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
