Job Details:

• Work afternoon/evening shifts from 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM
• Schedule includes holidays, weekends, on-call, and callback as needed
• Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia including preparation of anesthesia equipment prior to patient arrival
• Place anesthesia monitors and ensure cleanliness and availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies
• Continuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs, and anesthesia technologists to ensure needs are met throughout the day
• Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters
• Operate the cell-saver machine, track lab reports, and participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases
• Provide on-call coverage as needed
• Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order and preventive maintenance is completed
• Set up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshooting
• Test infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and transport monitors
• Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes to video monitors
• Assist in development and implementation of in-service training programs and staff training
• Set up rooms between cases, set up carts throughout the day, and provide full service set up at end of day
• Provide backup to shift supervisor during absences
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other nationally recognized professional certifying body preferred
