PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Day/Night rotation schedule
• Early start dates (8/3 or 8/17) will have 48-hour weekly shifts; start dates of 8/31 or later will have 36-hour weekly shifts
• Work in a 48-bed step-down unit providing care for cardiology, electrophysiology, and cardiac surgical patients
• Care for cardiothoracic surgical patients, pre and post CHF, telemetry, vascular, pulmonary hypertension, and temporary pacer patients
• Patient ratios: Days 1:3, Nights 1:4-5 depending on acuity
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience required
• MedSurg skills required include: chest tubes, drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wounds, and central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
• Stepdown skills required include: hemodynamic monitoring, invasive BP monitoring through arterial lines, Nitro/Primacor/Dobutamine/Dopamine drips, Bi-PAP/C-PAP, low dose pressors, vasoactive medications and inotropes, trachs, complex wounds, lines/tubes/drains for post-surgical patients, external pacers, epicardial wires, and TR bands
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• NH RN License or Compact License required (Proof of State Residency required)
