About this role

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Rapid Response is seeking a Registered Nurse for their ICU. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 28, 2026.

Position Details

  • 3x12-hour night shifts
  • 36 or 48 hours available per week
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • No block scheduling
  • Patient ratio of 1:3–4
  • Floating required as needed to sister unit (ICCU)

Compensation

$1,876 weekly pay.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years ICU experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • Strong drip experience, including titrating vasoactive drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo)
  • Experience with arterial lines, A-lines, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
  • Ability to recognize and treat dysrhythmias
  • Proficiency with telemetry monitors, external CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
  • Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
  • IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and heparin protocols
  • Familiarity with Pyxis and Epic systems (Epic experience preferred)

Patient Population

You will care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Diagnoses include post-rapid response team cases, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, and post-operative patients from GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomy, neuro, and ortho surgeries. You may also support pre- and post-op OB patients with complications.
