About this role
Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week travel assignment in their 20-bed mixed medical and surgical ICU. This is a full-time position working three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Role Overview
You will provide direct patient care in a dynamic critical care environment. Patient ratios vary based on acuity: ECMO patients 2:1, post open heart surgery 1:1, critical ICU/device patients 1:1, typical ICU assignments 1:2, and stepdown assignments 1:3-4. The unit operates with 1 charge nurse, 8-10 RNs, 1-3 LNAs, and sitter coverage as needed. You will float to the Progressive Care unit when required.
Clinical Responsibilities
You will manage patients on multiple types of equipment and technology, including IV pumps, telemetry monitors, hoyer and stand lifts, Impella devices, IABP, CRRT (NxStage), bladder scanners, Bair hugger, rapid transfuser, Blanketrol, chest tubes, vein finders, Sorin retransfuser post cardiac surgery, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP.
Procedures you will perform or assist with include pericardiocentesis with drains, thoracentesis, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion, intubation, TEE cardioversion, TTE, and transvenous pacing wire insertion. The unit uses the Sunrise EMR system.
Requirements
You must hold a current New Hampshire nursing license prior to submission. Required certifications are ACLS and BLS. Telemetry experience is required; PCU or greater experience is preferred. Prior ICU experience with critical drips and ventilators is preferred.
Schedule & Compensation
Every third weekend is required; no on-call responsibilities. Weekly pay is $2,396. The assignment runs 91 days, beginning August 3, 2026.
