Job Details:

• 3x12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement
• Variety of shift options available including 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts with times of 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, or 11:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Opportunities for overtime available
• No on-call or standby call requirements
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with extensive ventilator management
• ICU experience is a must
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC
• Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric patients in the ER or minor surgeries
• Cover all areas including inpatient ICU, ER, L&D, med-surg, psych, recovery room, and sleep lab
• Responsible for drawing and reading ABGs, drawing off A-line using Epoc machine, assisting with bronchoscopies, and attending all codes and rapid responses
• Assist with intubations (not required to intubate independently)
• L&D responsibilities include setting up blenders and humidifiers, stabilizing and transferring patients, and performing capillary sticks
• Occasional coverage of sleep lab to place patients on O2 or make adjustments
• Manage 3-4 ventilator patients per week
• Equipment includes Draeger, Vision BiPAP, V60s, Draeger Carina, and 2 Puritan Bennett ventilators
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Dress code: Black and teal intermixed scrub tops and bottoms
• Must have strong open communication skills, willingness to ask questions, and flexibility to cover all areas
• Acute care setting with hospitalist available 24/7 and intensivist on call during evenings and nights
