Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch 6-7); Night patient ratios are expected to be 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Every other weekend required
• Must be willing to float between Med Surg units to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• No on-call requirements
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
• New travel nurses (first-timers) accepted
• NY nursing license required prior to submission
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Must be proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must be comfortable with use of Rapid Response Teams
• Required skills include: Peripheral Line Care/Management, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Non-invasive airway management, and Isolation Precautions/PPE
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Common patient diagnoses include colon cancer, intestinal obstructions, breast cancer, morbid obesity, cholecystitis, and appendicitis
• Scrub color requirement: Any combination of navy and white
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
