Medical Lab Scientist Job in Pontiac, MI

McLaren Oakland is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a temporary night shift assignment in Pontiac, MI. This role offers a 4x10 night schedule with every other weekend required. You will work 91 days starting October 5, 2026, at $1,631 per week.

Position Requirements:

• 2+ years of Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) experience
• Blood bank experience required
• ASCP certification required
• BLS certification required
• Travel experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to determine normal and abnormal components
• Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques and procedures
• Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment including analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and flame photometers
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed
• Maintain laboratory supplies inventory and manage supply orders
• Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
• Work in compliance with all established QA/QI standards
• Maintain safe and clean working environment while adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies
• Recognize problems, identify causes, and implement appropriate solutions

This assignment includes no on-call responsibilities. You will be part of a clinical laboratory team delivering essential diagnostic services to support patient care.
