About this role
Box Butte General Hospital is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in Alliance, Nebraska. You will work day shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with one weekend day per month. This is an 88-week travel position beginning October 13, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,332.
Your Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, plan, coordinate, and administer occupational therapy treatments to restore functional abilities, relieve pain, and prevent or minimize disability
- Perform age-specific patient care through comprehensive evaluation, assessment, treatment planning, and execution of evidence-based OT services
- Provide therapeutic exercise, splinting, modalities, and self-care training using client-centered care practices
- Complete all patient care documentation including evaluations, treatment plans, discharge notes, re-evaluations, and daily notes per policy
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT students in accordance with professional practice acts and Medicare guidelines
- Collaborate with physical therapy, speech therapy, nursing, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Provide education and communication to patients, families, and caregivers
- Participate in departmental quality assurance projects, chart reviews, and policy reviews
- Supervise Swing Bed activities and maintain a safe, efficient work environment
- Attend over 80% of Rehab department meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Current Nebraska state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- PAM certification (Electrotherapeutic Agents, Deep Thermal Agents, and Superficial Thermal Agents)
- Active BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Competency in treating all age groups as demonstrated by age-specific testing
- Reliable personal transportation (Uber and Lyft services are not available in the area)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in a rural health setting
- New graduates will be considered
