Medical Lab Technician Job in Winnebago, NE

Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for overnight laboratory work in our small rural hospital. You will work a 7 on, 7 off schedule on night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend and holidays that fall during your scheduled work week.

In this role, you will perform laboratory testing and analyses to support prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. Your responsibilities include specimen acquisition and routine phlebotomy, accessioning and ordering tests in our Laboratory Information System (LIS), and processing specimens with referral to reference laboratories when needed. You will operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and work across all laboratory sections performing analytical testing on patient specimens.

You must be able to manage workflow independently during overnight shifts and respond to codes and traumas as needed. You will maintain documentation according to regulatory agency standards and adhere to sterilization and infection control procedures when handling infectious clinical specimens.

Key Qualifications:

• Associate's degree from an approved school
• Certification by MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT), or CLT(NCA)
• Minimum of one year of experience preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent multitasking and priority management skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs

Compensation and Duration: This is a 112-week travel assignment starting October 9, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,122. Overtime is earned at rates greater than 80 hours per pay period.
