Medical Lab Technician Job in Hebron, NE

Thayer County Health Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for a 91-day travel assignment in Hebron, Nebraska. You'll work a 4x10 rotating shift that includes day shifts with on-call responsibilities for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory services across multiple areas including urinalysis, chemistry, microbiology, coagulation, serology, hematology, and transfusion services in compliance with CLIA standards
• Collect capillary, venous, and arterial specimens from patients ranging from pediatric through geriatric populations
• Operate and maintain all laboratory equipment and perform scheduled preventive maintenance
• Monitor testing procedures to maintain acceptable levels of analytical performance
• Participate in proficiency testing, quality assurance, and quality control programs
• Coordinate with a reference lab to ensure high-quality testing and timely results for send-out tests
• Order and receive laboratory supplies
• Review, validate, and enter written orders into the LIS and register patients for lab appointments
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science
• ASCP or AMT professional certification required and must be maintained in good standing
• Proficiency with computers, LIS/HIS systems, and EMR
• Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Visual acuity and normal color perception

You will be exposed to biohazardous materials, communicable diseases, chemicals, and potentially unpleasant conditions. Professional appearance and high personal hygiene standards are expected.

Compensation

$1,898 per week. Assignment begins October 9, 2026.
