X-Ray Technician Job in State College, PA

Mount Nittany Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment in State College, PA. You will work rotating shifts including days Monday through Friday and evenings on the third shift with weekends, earning $1,900 per week.

Your Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for radiological examinations and explain procedures in clear, understandable terms
• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures as ordered by physicians with accuracy and timeliness
• Review imaging requests and evaluate orders to confirm appropriate exams and diagnoses
• Position patients correctly and capture appropriate radiographic views
• Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR rooms safely and efficiently, including proper start-up and shut-down procedures
• Transfer images to PACS, scan documents, and route materials appropriately
• Assist radiologists during fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations
• Move portable radiographic equipment throughout the Emergency Department, Operating Room, PACU, and nursing departments
• Apply proper sterile technique during operating room and radiology department procedures
• Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast media as needed
• Document patient symptoms, history, imaging limitations, date, time, and technologist initials in PACS
• Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff
• Perform quality assurance duties and clerical functions as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of ARRT-approved specialized training program in Radiological Technology
• ARRT registration in Radiology
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One year of experience performing radiological procedures preferred
