Special Procedures Technologist Job in Carbondale, IL

You'll work as an Interventional Radiology Technologist at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, supporting diagnostic imaging and special procedures in a brand new Siemens IR suite. This is a 13-week contract position with potential for ongoing need.

What You'll Do

• Assist with interventional radiology procedures using state-of-the-art imaging equipment
• Support general X-ray procedures when IR cases are not scheduled
• Document patient care and procedure details using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Respond to on-call requests as needed

Schedule and Hours

Shift lengths are flexible, with options for 8-hour or 10-hour shifts. Start times vary between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM depending on the day of the week and your chosen shift length. On-call requirements currently average up to 2 days per week and are expected to transition to up to 10 days per month once fully staffed. Weekend requirements are not currently in place, though Saturday or Sunday call may be added in the future.

What We Need From You

• Active Illinois X-ray license from IEMA
• Board certification as an X-ray Technologist through ARRT
• Mandatory interventional radiology or cath lab experience
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• IR certification is not required, but relevant procedural experience is essential

If you have cath lab experience, you are encouraged to apply; training can be provided to transition your skills to the interventional radiology environment.

Compensation

You'll earn $2,439 per week for this 13-week assignment beginning August 31, 2026.
