Med Surg RN Job in Boise, ID

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 34-bed Medical Surgical Neuro unit at St Lukes Boise Medical Center in Boise, ID. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (nights)
• Weekends required as needed
• No on-call or standby requirements
• $2,319 weekly

Your Role

You'll care for patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, spine and cranial surgeries, medical neuro disorders, neuro intervention procedures, Guillain-Barré syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring. Patient length of stay averages 2–5 days. You'll work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4. CNAs support at a 1:8 ratio. A Charge RN and House Supervisor are present; Assistant Managers work nights and days. Neuroscience NPs are available 24/7 for all neuro surgery and intervention patients.

• Respiratory therapy equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and Trachs
• Philips telemonitor system (workflow being determined)
• EPIC charting system
• Travelers float first to support all Treasure Valley Med-Surg areas

Orientation

You'll receive 2 days of unit- and department-specific orientation plus one didactic day with a unit-based educator.

Requirements

• RN degree with BSN required
• Minimum 2 years Med-Surg or Telemetry experience
• Stroke experience preferred
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS certification

Scrubs must be clean and professional; no specific color requirement.
