ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in a 33-bed adult ICU at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 126-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,359.

Shift and Schedule

• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Day shift hours: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or night shift hours: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during the contract period
• Self-scheduling for travelers integrated into core staff schedule; block scheduling not guaranteed

Clinical Responsibilities

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Average daily census of 16 patients
• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitor equipment with tele tech oversight
• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Common patient diagnoses: trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Floating may occur to PCU or occasionally Med-Surg with a typical ratio of 1:4 or 1:5

Support and Resources

• Nurse aides available based on census
• Healthcare Support tech available 3 days per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Charting via EPIC
• If placed on call and called back in, you must be able to arrive within 30 minutes

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Pass an open book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• BSN not required
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
