Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (with potential stretch to 6-7) and Night ratios are 6-7:1 (with potential stretch to 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No on-call required
• Float between like units required; will not practice outside of scope
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• New York state nursing license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and placing IVs required
• Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Must be proficient in peripheral line care and management
• Must be experienced with non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions/PPE
• Must be comfortable with oxygen administration including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Must be able to manage Amiodarone drip and utilize Rapid Response Teams
• Special equipment experience required: BIPAP, CPAP, High Flow, Ventilators, trach, and chest tubes
• Patient diagnoses include acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• PCTs available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
