CVICU RN Job in Reston, VA

You will work as an RN in the Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Reston Hospital Center VA, supporting patients in a newly launched cardiac surgery program. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM days)
• 36-hour weekly requirement
• 3 weekend shifts required every 4 weeks
• Weekly pay: $2,208

Role Responsibilities

You will provide direct care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients with varying acuity levels. Patient ratios are 1:1 for immediate post-surgical patients and 1:2 for post-operative day 1–3 patients. The unit operates under a primary nursing model, and you will maintain the same patient ratio when floating to other units.

Required Experience and Skills

• 1–2 years of experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients and direct primary recovery
• Current ACLS certification
• Advanced clinical skills including balloon pump, Impella training, and Hemosphere or Acumen training
