PCU Registered Nurse Job in Augusta, GA

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 112-week travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026, offering $1,903 weekly pay on a 3x12 nights schedule.

Role Overview

You will work on a Neuro/Stroke PCU floor managing respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics. Your patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4 across a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 30. You will titrate cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring, use Epic charting, and perform floating within facility scope as needed. No on-call requirements apply.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience preferred

Essential Clinical Skills

• Cardiac drip management and titration, vasoactive drip titration, and insulin drip titration
• Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Chest tube and tracheostomy care and management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• Feeding tube care, phlebotomy, and IV insertion and maintenance
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
• Pre- and post-neurosurgery care, CVA care, and traumatic brain injury care
• Isolation precautions, PPE, rapid response, and code team protocols

Scheduling and Time Off

You will work every other weekend unless specified otherwise. No block scheduling applies. Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all requests must be finalized at submission. Spring Break blackout dates apply April 4–12. Holiday work expectations are based on the number of major holidays within your assignment period.

Facility Support

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and transportation. Unit systems include Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR. Required scrub color is Navy Blue.
