ICU Registered Nurse Job in Columbia, SC

Prisma Health Richland Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 16-bed Neuro ICU. You will care for adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, post-operative neurosurgery, and neurovascular intervention.

Role Details

• Shift: 3x12 days
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 16, 2026
• Weekly pay: $1,999
• Patient ratios: 2:1
• Weekend coverage required: 6 shifts per 6-week schedule

Experience & Certifications Required

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Strong Neuro ICU experience required
• 1 year minimum experience with Epic EMR
• Large hospital experience (minimum 300+ beds)
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Trauma Level I experience preferred

Essential Clinical Skills

• External ventricular drain (EVD) and lumbar drain management
• Arterial line and central line care
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• ICP monitoring and interpretation
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Continuous IV sedation administration
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• IV insulin protocols
• PICC line management
• Blood product administration
• Post-neurosurgery patient management
• Multisystem organ dysfunction and failure management
• Phlebotomy

Facility Support

The Neuro ICU maintains a daily census of 13 patients with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.

You may be required to float to other units or campuses per request, but floating will only occur to units where your competencies have already been demonstrated and documented.
