Opportunity:

RN - Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6-9 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Rare on-call or standby requirement for low census situations
• Schedule is released 4-6 weeks in advance by leadership; travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
• Float pool position covering multiple units including General MS-Tele, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs
• Must float within Zone 1 facilities across a 60-mile radius from Colorado Springs city center, including Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
• No home base facility - traveler must live within 60 miles of each facility in the zone
• Schedules may follow Option A (assigned to a single facility for the week with possible floating within that facility) or Option B Just-In-Time (facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call)
• May be asked to float into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 based on acuity
• Designated charge nurse on each unit; does not typically take a patient assignment
• Nurse aides available on units
• RT equipment in use including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
• Required to titrate Heparin drips
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, and stable long-term placement patients
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele experience required; prior neuro experience preferred
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Must be present in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote
