About this role
You will work as a Cath Lab Technologist at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-week travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026.
Schedule & Pay
- 4x10 shift schedule: 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- Weekly pay: $3,156
- Up to 26 weeks available by request
- 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts required per 6-week period
- One full weekend of call (Friday–Sunday) scheduled together; remaining weekday calls taken individually
- One Saturday shift for elective cases required per 6-week period
- Must be able to return to hospital within 30 minutes when called
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- One holiday per 13-week contract in rotation with staff
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT (R) or CCI RCIS
- Epic charting proficiency
- Sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
- Hemodynamic monitoring and rapid response protocols
- Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy
Role Overview
You will support adult patients across 6 procedure rooms with daily census of 15 to 20. You will assist with cardiac catheterization procedures including left heart catheterization (LHC), right heart catheterization (RHC), percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacemaker insertion, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), Watchman, and MitraClip procedures.
Advanced procedures include left atrial appendage closures, CardioMEMS, thrombectomy, renal denervation, and research protocols. Equipment you will work with includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS).
Common patient diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures. You will demonstrate knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management.
