Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on day or night shift
• 4 shifts per week scheduled Sunday through Saturday
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Every-other-weekend requirement; nights rotate Friday/Saturday
• Opportunities for Charge Nurse and Precepting roles
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for both day and night shift
• Care setting is acute care
• Work across two telemetry units consisting of 20-bed and 22-bed floors
• Manage patients with elevated troponin, active chest pain, pre/post cardiac catheterization, NSTEMI, post-STEMI, pacers, peritoneal dialysis, and occasional oncology and post-surgical patients
• Manage drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Integrilin per protocol, and Nitroglycerin at set rates
• Manage BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen in coordination with respiratory therapy
• Read and document cardiac monitor strips every 4 hours and export into patient chart
• Use Phillips Cardiac Monitors with central monitoring station
• Chart using EPIC electronic medical records system; monitor data flows directly into EPIC
• Use Omnicell for medication management with pharmacy available on unit during the day
• Hospitalist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy support available in-house 24/7
• No IV team on site; nurses responsible for IV access
• 1 to 2 days of floor-specific orientation provided depending on experience
• Occasional floating to ICU overflow, telemetry, or orthopedic/medical-surgical units
• Scrub color is navy blue; navy or white jacket; white or navy undershirt; natural hair color only; distasteful tattoos must be covered
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required
