Operating Room RN Job in Anchorage, AK

Alaska Native Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in Anchorage, AK. This 91-day travel assignment runs from September 8, 2026, and offers a 4x10 day shift schedule at $2,472 weekly.

Shift Details

• Day shift with variable hours: 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM or 8:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week; OR nurses on 12-hour shifts receive 4 additional hours weekly to cover breaks and lunches, resulting in 40 guaranteed hours
• Weekends and on-call required; call obligations average 1–2 weekends (Friday after work through Monday morning) and 2–4 weekdays per 3-month contract
• Third shift variable hours on Saturdays and Sundays
• Float required to other campus locations as needed
• Holiday coverage may be assigned based on facility needs

About the Role

You will work in an OR setting with 11 rooms and a daily census of 30–40 cases, totaling 1,200–1,500 cases per month. You will be responsible for patient care across all age groups—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics—as well as OR room cleaning and turnover with a 20-minute target.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Robotic surgery experience required
• Trauma experience required
• Current BCLS, ACLS, and BLS certifications
• Alaska state RN license prior to start date
• Must meet minimum 100-mile radius requirement; locals not accepted

Required Skills and Experience

• Robotic surgery (colorectal, GYN, neuro, ortho, urologic, GI, TORS)
• Arthroscopy and laparoscopic procedures
• Total joint replacement, orthopedic, and spine procedures
• Code response, fire safety, malignant hypothermia protocols
• Electrosurgical equipment, arthroscopes, and laparoscopes
• Wound management and infection control
