ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shift schedule
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday as needed
• No on-call required
• Float within skillset as needed
• 2 years of recent emergency department experience required
• Travel experience required
• Triage experience required (hard stop)
• Within the past 8 months, candidate must have worked in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day)
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Maryland compact license or MD license required
• Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, general emergency department combined adult/pediatric care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and triage
• Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Expert prioritization and organizational skills required to manage a fast-paced emergency department environment
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
