PCU Registered Nurse Job in Watertown, NY

Join Samaritan Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit. This 13-week travel assignment offers you the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a dynamic acute-care setting while building your clinical experience and professional network.

Position Overview

You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, caring for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions who require close monitoring and skilled nursing intervention. You may be called upon to assume charge nurse responsibilities and coordinate care across the unit.

Your Responsibilities

• Assess and address clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual patient needs
• Recognize safety issues and implement proper patient movement and lift techniques
• Function effectively in stressful situations with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Prioritize and delegate tasks with strong leadership ability
• Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams through excellent written and verbal communication
• Provide compassionate, quality patient care within established protocols

Requirements

• Current New York RN license
• Completion of at least one successful prior travel nursing assignment
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current critical care experience preferred
• Residence outside a 100-mile radius of the facility
• Availability for weekends, holidays, and call shifts as needed

Compensation and Assignment Details

You will earn $2,444.04 weekly. The assignment runs for 93 days, beginning August 31, 2026. Housing and travel arrangements can be discussed with your ADEX recruiter.
