About this role
University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their oncology unit in Charlottesville, VA. This is a night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts, with weekly pay of $2,291. The assignment runs 98 weeks, starting September 28, 2026, and extends through January 2, 2027.
Position Details
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
- Work every other weekend; 2 out of 3 winter holidays required
- Maximum 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
- Float required in alignment with facility float policy
Clinical Environment
- 28-bed adult acute care hematology and oncology inpatient unit
- 15-bed intermediate care Stem Cell Transplant Unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Care for adult patients with hematology and oncology diagnoses
Clinical Responsibilities
- Access and manage ports
- Administer chemotherapy
- Provide comprehensive nursing care within your assigned patient load
Requirements
- Current Virginia nursing license (pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification (must be attached at submittal or pending completion before start date)
- ACLS preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- BSN preferred
